The Kern High School District has a list of resources for our students here.

From their site: "GSA clubs, or GSAs for short, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities. GSAs have evolved beyond their traditional role to serve as safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth in middle schools and high schools, and have emerged as vehicles for deep social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice.

A growing body of research confirms that the presence of a GSA has a positive and lasting effect on student health, wellness, and academic performance. It can also protect students from harassment based on sexual orientation or gender identity, and improve school climates for all students in the long-term."

Founded in 1995, Wristband Resources is a privately held, family company that is proud to say our Tyvek®, Plastic, and Vinyl products are made in the U.S.A. This is an article on their site, written by Michele Wheat, about the variet of ways to celebrate Pride all year long.

As stated at the beginning of the article, "Creating LGBTQIA+ friendly schools and universities promotes a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. This leads to several benefits such as promoting diversity and inclusivity, reducing discrimination and bullying, improving mental health, helping LGBTQIA+ students achieve academic success, and creating a positive learning environment for everyone involved.

Inclusive environments help reduce the stress and anxiety that can come with being in an unsupportive environment and can improve mental health outcomes. Additionally, when LGBTQIA+ students feel safe and supported, they are better able to focus on their academic goals and achieve academic success. The following article dives more deeply into how schools and universities can approach introducing inclusive learning environments for all students."
